WEST JAVA INDONESIA - Thousands of people from several areas in Pangandaran, West Java, Indonesia gathered to fill the Pangandaran Beach Paamprokan Square to carry out a solidarity action to defend Palestine, Monday, August 12 2024.
The solidarity action was attended by Ustaz Bachtiar Nasir and several other ulama figures.
One of Pangandaran's residents, H. Miswan, said that Pangandaran happened to be the center of activities for performing unseen prayers to express his condolences to the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, who was martyred in Iran while attending the President's inauguration.
"We pray together and perform unseen prayers together, " said Miswan, Monday, August 12 2024.
Miswan said that the masses who attended the solidarity action came from Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, Banjar and Pangandaran, totaling around 2, 500 people, aiming to support the humanitarian solidarity action.
"One of the demands is from a humanitarian perspective, the second is from the faith factor, our brothers and sisters in Palestine hope to get independence soon, " said Miswan, "Moreover, now is the moment for the Indonesian people to commemorate Independence Day, whereas on August 17 1945, Indonesia's first day Waving the red and white flag, the State of Palestine was the first to recognize the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. "So we, as children of a nation that enjoys this independence, are happy and join in praying that Palestine will soon become independent "said Miswan".
It can be seen that the masses using two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, complete with the attributes of the Red and White flag and the Palestinian flag, gradually filled the Paamprokan Square on Pangandaran Beach.
